Lisa Pollitt, 36, intentionally drove her car into oncoming traffic on Route 130 shortly after 4 p.m. on Feb. 10 before hitting the other vehicle, police said.

The 95-year-old victim, Ann “Nancy” Stewart, was a passenger in the vehicle that was hit. She and the driver of the car were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where Stewart died two days later.

The unidentified driver also suffered serious injuries.

Pollitt is charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts each of second- and third-degree aggravated assault and fourth-degree obstruction.

According to police, the murder seems to be a random act as Pollitt and the victims did not know each other.

The investigation is active and ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call Detective Lindenfeld of the Cranbury Police Department at (609) 664-3244 or Detective Berman of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office at (732) 745-4328.
