Overnight shooting at NJ shopping center leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (1010 WINS) — One person was killed and two were injured by a shooting at a Toms River shopping center early Saturday morning, according to police.

Toms River Township Police responded to reports of the shooting on the 1700 block of Hooper Avenue just after 1 a.m.

Emergency responders rushed a 29-year-old man to the Community Medical Center in Toms River, where he was pronounced dead.

The other two victims, who are 29 and 25 years old, were taken to Monmouth County for treatment.

One is still hospitalized in critical but stable condition, and the other was released, according to officials.

Police are investigating the shooting and have not yet made any arrests.
