1 killed, 2 injured in shooting at Long Island block party: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was killed and two others were wounded after a shooting at a 4th of July block party on Long Island, officials said.

According to police, multiple shots were fired after a dispute between two groups escalated at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Hudson Avenue in Roosevelt.

A 27-year-old man from Hempstead was shot and pronounced dead on the scene, Nassau County Police said.

A 31-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

A 21-year-old man was also shot and hospitalized in stable condition.

No arrests have been made and an investigation remains ongoing.
