
RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- Suffolk County detectives are investigating a car crash that injured six people, one critically, on Long Island Sunday night.

According to officials, at approximately 8:45 p.m., 19-year-old Justin Weber was driving a 2016 Toyota Avalon that was parked facing northbound on the right shoulder in front of 2231 Ocean Avenue.
Weber attempted to make a U-turn to the southbound lanes of Ocean Avenue when he was struck by a northbound 2013 Jeep Wrangler.
Weber was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition.
Two passengers in his vehicle, a 19-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, were transported to South Shore University Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Jeep, Caylee Wendal, 19, and her two passengers, an 18-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
