
COPIAGUE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested two men on Long Island after they allegedly stabbed a man and his teenage son on Wednesday.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., the two men were working as contractors at a residence located at 286 44th St. in Copiague, when they were involved in an altercation with two of the residents of the home, officials said.
The residents, a 34-year-old father and his 16-year-old son, were both stabbed during the altercation.
The contractors, who are also father and son, fled the scene in a work van and called 911 from a nearby gas station to report the incident.
The victims were transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Suffolk County officers took the contractors into custody a short time later at Valero gas station, located at 3359 Great Neck Road in Copiague.
Selvin Mills, 50, and Savion Mills, 19, were each charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child.
They were held overnight and scheduled to be arraignedon Thursday.
