NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Is Andrew Cuomo eyeing a run for New York Attorney General in 2022?

Well, according to The New York Post he is, citing "people with direct knowledge of his thinking."

In fact, the newspaper claims that multiple Cuomo confidants have bounced around the idea to Democratic officials in the past 24 hours.

With current Attorney General Letita James instead running for governor, coupled with the fact that Cuomo previously held the job, in theory, it's not such a stretch.

But, when contacted by 1010 WINS, Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi denied the story, adding, "There's a ton of idle speculation out there and we can't control if we continue to take up valuable real estate in people’s heads."

And Cuomo himself said in a New York magazine interview published Friday, "I don’t know what the future holds,” Cuomo said. “I’m at peace. Look, it’s simple: I trust the people and the truth will [win] out."
