NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Three of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s family members, including two of his daughters, retweeted a post from actor Billy Baldwin this weekend that defended their father amid sexual misconduct allegations and calls for his resignation.
“I have known the entire Cuomo family since the 1980s. I have tremendous respect & admiration for every single one of them,” Baldwin tweeted Saturday. “Don’t you think, after 40 years as a New York public servant, he deserves and has earned the right to an investigation before everybody rushes to judgment?”
Two of Cuomo’s three adult daughters, Mariah and Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo, retweeted Baldwin’s post, as did the governor’s sister, Maria Cuomo Cole.
The show of support comes as Cuomo faces calls for his resignation, including from much of New York’s congressional delegation.
Cuomo has said he doesn’t plan to step down amid the allegations, and he urged New Yorkers to wait for the outcome of investigations into his conduct, including one overseen by state Attorney General Letitia James.
