NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Chelsea Handler said this week that she asked out "big Italian hunk" Gov. Andrew Cuomo on a date a few months ago, and he agreed -- but she never heard from him again.
His reason for not making it happen? He only dates in-state residents, he joked on "The View" Thursday.
"I'm a big fan of Chelsea’s and she is great and we have fun but on my dating life, you know, I am only dating at this point in-state residents,” Cuomo, 62, said.
But there's hope: "If Chelsea changes her residence, then maybe we can work it out," he said.
Cuomo was asked by the show's hosts about Handler after she appeared on the show a day earlier, and spoke about being what's known as a "Cuomosexual."
"I did have a conversation with Cuomo a few months ago and I did ask him on a date and he said yes and I never heard from him," Handler, 45, said.
What's the attraction?
"'First of all, he's like a big giant: He came in like the Incredible Hulk, right? We needed someone to come on the scene. We were so dehydrated for real leadership," she said.
"Then he came on the scene, looking like this big, Italian hunk," she said. "He was like, 'Wear a mask,' I was like, 'I'll wear a mask, I'll put a mask on every part of my body. I want to flatten your curve, and you can flatten my curve and then we can both apex together."'
Cuomo, laughing, said to the hosts, "I've had a lot of conversations about flattening the curve, but never quite that way. I'm a big fan of Chelsea's and she is great. We have fun."
