
PORT JEFFERSON, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Suffolk County SPCA detectives arrested and charged a man on Long Island on Thursday for an animal cruelty incident after his dogs were found to have ingested drugs.
SPCA officers responded to a local animal hospital after a toxicology report indicated that both 15-week-old male chihuahuas, Freddy and Tonto, were suffering from symptoms of an overdose of cocaine.
Narcan was administered to reverse the opioid overdose, Roy Gross, Chief of the Suffolk County SPCA said.
Adam Dziomba, 53, was charged with two counts of Misdemeanor Animal Cruelty.
He is due to appear in court on Friday.
