Nicki Minaj’s father, 64, killed in hit-and-run crash on Long Island

MINEOLA, N.Y. (1010 WINS) – Rapper Nicki Minaj’s father, Robert Maraj, was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Nassau County this weekend, according to police and a report.

Maraj, 64, was walking near Roslyn Road and Raff Avenue in Mineola around 6:15 p.m. Friday when he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene of the crash, police said.

Maraj, of Mineola, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries Saturday, according to police.

A representative for Minaj confirmed Maraj's death to TMZ.

Minaj has not yet commented publicly on her father's death.

Minaj, 38, was born Onika Tanya Maraj in Trinidad and was raised in Queens.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Police have not provided a description of the vehicle, and no arrests have been reported.
