
EAST GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Three suspects were arrested for stealing from a Macy's on Long Island then running a detective over while attempting to flee on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
At 1:00 p.m., two of the suspects exited Macy’s located at 630 Old Country Rd. in East Garden City, with merchandise and made no attempt to purchase the items, officials said.
Samantha Signorelli, 32, and Michele Brown, 25, were immediately arrested by detectives.
While investigating the incident, a detective observed a third woman driving a 2019 Volkswagen waiting for the arrestees.
A detective attempted to stop the vehicle and she intentionally struck him, police said.
The woman then continued to flee with the detective on the hood when she struck a parked 2022 Nissan Pathfinder.
The detective was thrown from the vehicle and the subject fled.
A short time later, authorities arrested Amber Johnson, 36.
Signorelli is charged with grand larceny degree and had open warrants for criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Brown is charged with petit larceny and had open warrants for grand larceny, criminal possession of a controlled substance and petit larceny.
Johnson is charged with reckless endangerment, assault conspiracy, criminal possession of a weapon and leaving the scene of an incident.
