EAST PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- Suffolk County detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian on Long Island Wednesday evening, authorities said.
According to officials, at about 9:30 p.m., 46-year-old Elizabeth Youth was driving a 2021 Honda CRV westbound on South Country Road in East Patchogue, when her vehicle struck 68-year-old William Burrows as he was crossing the roadway northbound from South Dunton Avenue.

Burrows was transported by South Country Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Youth was not injured in the crash.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact Fifth Squad detectives at 631-854-8552.
