
NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Officials launched an investigation after a teen was killed and three others wounded when gunmen opened fire on their moving vehicle in Newark over the weekend.
Acting Essex County prosecutors on Sunday said in a statement that men in another vehicle fired shots and killed 17-year-old Djiba Kaba at around 9 p.m. on Saturday.

A spokesperson from the prosecutor’s office told NJ.com that Kaba had been driving the vehicle when he was shot, causing the car to crash into unoccupied parked vehicles.
Kaba and the other victims were taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:41 p.m., authorities said.
The other victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
There have been no arrests made.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide and Major Crimes Task Force, are investigating the shooting.
