Woman dragged by man trying to steal her Range Rover at LI gas station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A thief dragged a woman as he tried to steal her Range Rover at a Long Island gas station Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The 42-year-old victim was pumping gas into her Range Rover at the 76 Gas Station at 676 Glen Cove Road in Glen Head around 11 a.m. when a white Porsche Cayenne pulled up next to her with three or four men inside, police said.

One of the men got out of the Porsche and hopped into the woman’s vehicle. He then started to drive away while she was hanging on to the SUV, according to officials.

The victim was dragged several feet before she let go. The SUV finally stopped near the intersection of Glen Cove Road and Glen Head Road where the man got out of the SUV with the woman’s belongings, including a purse and laptop, cops said.

After taking the woman’s stuff, the man got back into the Porsche with the other men and fled the area. The woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The man police are looking for is described as being Black, about 5’9” with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket and adidas striped track pants.
