EGG HARBOR, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A woman and a teenage girl were charged on Wednesday after they allegedly left an infant and two toddlers in a hot car with the windows closed for nearly 45 minutes as they shopped at a New Jersey Walmart.

On Wednesday, around 2:45 p.m., officers responded to a Egg Harbor Township Walmart for a report of three crying young children locked inside a vehicle crying. The temperature at the time was around 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
Upon arrival, police found a 3-year-old, a 1-year-old and a 5-month-old child inside a vehicle that was not running and all windows were closed.
Police said they used a "lock out kit" to unlock the doors and the children were rescued and immediately turned over to Egg Harbor Township EMS for treatment.
All three children were transported to Atlantic City Medical Center and are expected to be okay, police said. The Division of Child Protection and Permanency were contacted and responded to the hospital.
Further investigation and security camera footage revealed that the women, Cyndie Jourdain and a 17-year-old girl, both of Galloway Township, were inside the store for around 45 minutes while the children were inside the car.
Both were arrested at the scene and were charged with endangering the welfare of a child, according to police. Each were processed and released pending a court appearance.
