YONKERS, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A 39-year-old Yonkers man was arrested on Monday after police found 95 kilograms — about 209 pounds — of cocaine and fentanyl in a tractor trailer truck, the DOJ announced Wednesday.
Police pulled over Alejandro Nouel Lajud for driving erratically on the New Jersey Turnpike in East Rutherford, officials said.
When officers searched the truck, they allegedly found 95 brick-shaped packages of drugs that each weighed about one kilogram.
Police said 25 of the bricks contained fentanyl and 70 were filled with cocaine.
Lajud was charged with intent to distribute cocaine and fentanyl.
If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison with a mandatory minimum of 10 years. He could also be subjected to a fine of up to $10 million.
