Now, they are being mentioned as a suitor for a defensive star, in Los Angeles Rams corner back, Jalen Ramsey.

“All parties involved remain tight-lipped on the trade availability of Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, but there’s a rumor picking up steam in league circles that the Cowboys would be a good fit," the Athletic's Jeff Howe said in a report. "Pairing Ramsey with Trevon Diggs would certainly create one of the most fascinating cornerback combinations in the NFL...According to one evaluator, Ramsey is still a physically elite cornerback, but he might not have been as focused on the field last season. A change of scenery could provide a spark."

Ramsey started all 17 games for the Rams in 2022, finishing with four interceptions for the second straight season.

He also had two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery, and was named as a Pro Bowl replacement for Darius Slay.

That is all production that the Cowboys could certainly use.

A source recently told 105.3 the Fan's Bryan Broaddus that a third-round pick could be enough to get the Rams to move on from Ramsey.

The 28-year-old Ramsey had the third-best cornerback grade by Pro Football Focus last season. He signed a five-year, $100 million contract with the Rams in 2020, but it’s very likely that Ramsey wants a new deal

“My guess is Ramsey wants about 65 million in cash over the next three years. It’d be an expensive contract,” Belt said. “I would not argue for that… For the next five years, I would rather have Trevon Diggs than Jalen Ramsey.”

All in all, the Cowboys have plenty of time to figure out what they are going to do with Diggs, their secondary, and their offseason in general. Nevertheless, some speculation about big splashes can’t hurt.
