INGLEWOOD, Calif. (105.3 The Fan) - A joyful Jerry Jones briefly spoke with the media after the Dallas Cowboys beat the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams 22-10 on Sunday.
Jones spoke about wearing "jewelries" after beating the Rams in their own building on Sunday. Although, that's debatable based on the amount of Cowboys fans who were at the game.
But no one, even Jones, believed the Cowboys would win four straight games without quarterback Dak Prescott. And if you did, you better have a lot of money in your bank account to show for it.
Speaking of Prescott, Jones said he'll throw the football "a lot" in practice this week to see if he is healthy and prepared enough to return for Sunday night's division battle against the Philadelphia Eagles.
"We'll see how it goes. He's feeling good. He's made a lot of improvement," Jones said.
When asked if they know whether or not Prescott will play Sunday, Jones said, "we'll just see. We don't know how he's going to throw."
Prescott also spoke with reporters after the game about his status heading into Week 6.
"I'm day by day, there’s a lot of growth right now, we’re up hill, things are happening fast, taking it day by day when I can do more than the next day we’ll keep pushing like that," he said, via Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News.
Prescott has been out since fracturing his right thumb late in the Cowboys' Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Prescott’s recovery is said to be going smoothly, and the tilt in Philly has been identified as the most likely return date.
Coach Mike McCarthy said last week that he wants to see Prescott get in a full week's worth of practices before he'll throw him into game action. It sounds like Prescott will get an opportunity to do just that this week.
Stay tuned.
