All things considered, this is good news for the Cowboys because they were preparing for a much more significant injury following the game.

"I'd put it in the category of significant, but really until we got all the scans we won't diagnose it, so I don't have a timeline," said Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy of Gallimore, who left the game during the first quarter.

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys may have lost a key cog in their defense in their preseason opener on Friday night, when defense tackle Neville Gallimore was forced to exit the game with an apparent arm injury.

The injury occurred on the defense's second series of the game, and Gallimore was quickly herded to the locker room by the training staff.

Gallimore is one of the few remaining bodies at defensive tackle for the Cowboys, alongside Trysten Hill. The second year defender started the game alongside Carlos Watkins.

In place of Gallimore along the front, Osa Odighizuwa was inserted into the lineup next to Watkins. Justin Hamilton also saw action in the spot.
