Nussmeier was let go earlier this offseason, as one of multiple Dallas assistants whose contracts were not renewed.

Tolzien was a former backup quarterback under Mike McCarthy in Green Bay from 2013-2015 and has been with Dallas as an assistant for three seasons.

He will now work under new Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who was hired to replace Kellen Moore.

Tolzien is just the latest internal promotion from the Cowboys, joining Schottenheimer and Jeff Blasko (running backs coach) this offseason.
