DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys made a big splash this offseason in the free agency and trade markets. And one of those splashes, was the addition of running back Ronald Jones.

However, it appears that Dallas will now be without Jones for the beginning of the new season, after he was suspended for the team's first two games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances on Monday.

The NFL released a statement on Jones's suspension on Monday afternoon.

"Ronald Jones of the Dallas Cowboys has been suspended without pay for the first two games of the 2023 regular season for violating the NFL Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances. Jones is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games. He will be allowed to return to the Cowboys' active roster on Monday, Sept. 18, following the team's Week 2 game vs. the New York Jets.

Jones spent the first four seasons of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he racked up 2,174 yards and 18 touchdowns, averaging 4.5 yards per carry.

In his one year stint with the Chiefs, Jones had 17 carries for 70 yards and a score.
