DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys made some serious moves in regards to their 2022 cap structure on Tuesday, restructuring the contracts of quarterback Dak Prescott and offensive lineman Zack Martin, the team announced Tuesday.
The moves come shortly after the Cowboys elected to franchise tight end Dalton Schultz, who was set to test the free agent market following his break out 2021 season.

The decision to restructure Prescott and Martin will create more than $22 million in cap room for the Cowboys, paving the way for them to get back under the cap.
Dallas will also now be able to continue negotiations with other players such as wideout Amari Cooper, and defensive ends Randy Gregory and Tank Lawrence, each of whom is a key part of the Cowboys success.
Prescott is coming off of a season in which he led the Cowboys to a 12-5 record and threw for 4,449 yards and 37 touchdowns, to just 10 interceptions.
He also had a passer rating of 104.2 and completed 68.8 percent of his passes.
The Cowboys also elected to sign versatile reserve wideout Noah Brown to a one-year extension on Tuesday, perhaps setting the stage for more complimentary moves to come in the next few hours.
