DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - With the 53-man roster deadline looming on Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys have cut their quarterback down to just one, waiving both Will Grier and Cooper Rush.
However, the Cowboys are expected to bring one, if not both back, as they attempt to maneuver players around their roster before the deadline at 3pm to get to the 53 man limit.
While Rush will not go through waivers, Grier will, leaving open the chance that Grier could be claimed by another team.
In the event that he does not get claimed, Grier will likely head to the Cowboys practice squad, while Rush returns as the back up after IR and other injury designations begin in 24 hours.
In his career with the Cowboys, 31 of 50 passes for 424 yards and three touchdowns with one interception, and helped lead the Cowboys to a regular season win over the Vikings in 2021.
In the Cowboys final preseason game, Grier completed 12 of 22 passes for 88 yards and two scores.
