DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys added a potentially major playmaker to the defense on Friday night, picking Texas Longhorns linebacker DeMarvion Overshown with the No. 90 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Overshown, a native of Arp, Texas, started his career as a safety for the Longhorns, before converting to linebacker later in his career.

In his final three seasons with the Longhorns, Overshown became one of the top linebackers in the Big 12, finishing his time in Austin with 249 total tackles, 30.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, three interceptions, 17 pass break ups, and three forced fumbles.

As a result of his highly productive 2022 season, Overshown was named first team All-Big 12.

Overshown got significant pre-draft interest from the Cowboys and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, and is known as a tough nosed and hard hitting tackler with elite athleticism.

Overshown should become a natural fit with the Cowboys alongside Micah Parsons and Leighton Vander Esch, and could see significant playing time early on.
