Joseph had reportedly been involved in some capacity in an altercation near the 3600 block of Greenville avenue on the same night that 20-year-old Cameron Ray was shot and killed.

He was also reportedly a passenger in a car in which the shots were fired that killed Ray. Though Joseph's lawyer insists his client was unarmed and did not fire the shots.

Ray was shot outside of OT Tavern at the corner of Greenville Avenue and Martel Avenue at 2 a.m.

Ray was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
