DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Three days have passed since the Cowboys were reportedly close to an agreement with free-agent safety Malik Hooker, but the organization has yet to make an official announcement on whether or not he'll be joining the team.

During Cowboys owner Jerry Jones' appearance with the GBag Nation on Monday at training camp, he was asked if Hooker's signing will become official in the coming days?

"Well, I think so. Of course. As a matter of a fact, it's pretty official what you're hearing [about Hooker signing with the Cowboys]," Jones said. "He's on campus and can't join [us yet] because he's got to go through the protocol, and do those kinds of things. But we feel great about having him join the team."

Hooker originally met with the Cowboys this spring, with Dallas opting to sign veteran Damontae Kazee instead.

Now, it appears that the Cowboys will not only give Hooker a shot during training camp, but that he is expected to make the initial 90-man roster with the team.

Hooker spent the first four years of his career with the Indianapolis Colts, where he played in 36 games, amassing 124 tackles, seven interceptions and 11 pass deflections over that time.
