DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys had to make some tough cuts when they finalized their initial 53-man roster on Tuesday. However, some of the players they waived was more about roster manipulation than saying a long goodbye.
Two of those players were quarterbacks Cooper Rush and Will Grier, both of whom were signed to the Cowboys practice squad on Wednesday, Todd Archer of ESPN reports.
Kicker Brett Maher, running back Malik Davis and defensive tackle Carlos Watkins, who started 14 games in 2021, will also join the practice squad, Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News reports.
All three players were among the Cowboys' cuts on Tuesday, as were the rest of the team's 12 practice squad signings.
