With the NFL's legal tampering period underway, the Dallas Cowboys are clearing more money off their books.
The Cowboys created $7 million in cap room by restructuring wide receiver Michael Gallup's contract on Monday, Todd Archer of ESPN reports.
The move comes after Dallas restructured quarterback Dak Prescott and right guard Zack Martin's contracts, freeing up $30 million in space to get them under the salary cap. After Gallup's move becomes official, Dallas will be $21 million under the salary cap.
Now, who could that money go to? The Cowboys typically prioritize signing their own free agents and go bargain shopping later on in free agency, so it's likely that these funds will be used to bring back some key players from last year's team, including safety Donovan Wilson, defensive end Dante Fowler and linebacker Leighton Vander Esch.
Former Cowboys offensive lineman Connor McGovern signed a three-year, $23 million contract with Buffalo earlier Friday.
