DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Could DeMarcus Lawrence be staying put, after all? According to a source close to ESPN's Ed Werder, "Lawrence isn't going anywhere."

This report comes after the Cowboys failed in their attempt to get Lawrence to take a pay cut earlier this week, per 105.3 The Fan's Bobby Belt.

Multiple sources have told 105.3 The Fan in recent weeks that Lawrence and receiver Amari Cooper are potential salary-cap casualties this offseason. The Cowboys were expected to broach the idea of a pay cut with Lawrence's representatives at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, which ended Saturday, and the expectation was that his reps would turn down the organization's request.

It remains to be seen where the Cowboys go from here with the 29-year-old but his chances of sticking in Dallas were thought to be in doubt after he declined a reduction in pay.

Lawrence is set to earn $19 million in 2022. Dallas will save $8 million by releasing him before June 1 and $19 million after June 1.
