The Cowboys' newest wide receiver is ready to make his season debut.
T.Y. Hilton will be active for the Cowboys' Christmas Eve showdown against the Eagles, owner Jerry Jones said on 'Shan and RJ' on Friday morning.
"He should impact us immediately. I expect him to be involved and counted on," Jones said.
The Cowboys signed Hilton on Dec. 12 after it became clear that their No. 1 target, Odell Beckham Jr., wouldn't be ready to play for several more weeks.
Hilton, 33, hasn't played this season after the Colts elected not to offer him a new contract after his previous one expired after the 2021 season.
Hilton, a four-time Pro Bowler, has been an excellent receiver when healthy. He's had five 1,000-yard seasons including an NFL-best 1,148 yards in 2016 for the Colts. But he's missed 16 games over the last four seasons due to various injuries. His last 1,000-yard season came in 2018 when he had 1,270 yards receiving.
In 10 games in 2021, Hilton had 23 catches for 331 yards.
