DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Amid one of the most disappointing seasons in the recent history of the Dallas Mavericks, superstar Luka Doncic refuses to throw in the towel.

On Tuesday, amid rumblings of a Doncic shut down and the Mavs considering the idea of tanking to improve their draft odds, Doncic himself debunked those rumors, telling reporters that he will intends to play vs. the Kings on Wednesday night.

“I’m playing tomorrow," Doncic said. "When there’s still a chance, I’m going to play.”

Since the end of the All-Star Break, the Mavs have gone just 6-13, and dropped from a virtual playoff lock, all the way down the No. 11 spot in the Western Conference standings.

Meanwhile, while his production has slightly dipped since the All-Star Break, he has still put up elite numbers, averaging 30.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game, while shooting 45.8 percent from the floor.

Overall this season, Doncic is averaging 32.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game.

The Mavs now sit a full game behind the Oklahoma City Thunder for a spot in the playoff play-in game, with just three games remaining on the schedule.
