Mavs sign free agent wing Sterling Brown to 2-year deal

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks kicked off free agency on Monday by re-enforcing their wings on Monday afternoon, signing former SMU Mustang and Houston Rocket Sterling Brown to a two-year, $6.2 million deal.

Brown, who formerly played under Jason Kidd in Milwaukee with the Bucks, had a career year with the Rockets last season, averaging 8.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.

Brown also shot a career-best 42.3-percent from three on a career-high 4.2 attempts per game last season, and 44.8-percent from the field overall.

Before heading to Houston, Brown spent three years in Milwaukee, averaging 5.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
