DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks have placed forward/center Maxi Kleber in the league's health and safety protocols.

Kleber becomes the third Maverick to enter the protocols, joining Josh Green and Reggie Bullock, who landed on the COVID-19 list over the weekend.

Kleber missed 11 games last season after testing positive for the virus.

The Mavericks also announced Monday that point guard Luka Doncic will miss his fifth straight game due to ankle soreness when Dallas hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night.

Mavs forward/center Kristaps Porzingis, who left Sunday's loss to the Timberwolves with a sore right toe, is listed as questionable.

It's unknown if Bullock, Green, or Kleber tested positive for COVID-19, but Dallas appears to be on the verge of replacing two of them under the league's hardship allowance. The Mavs officially announced on Monday that it had signed shooting guard Theo Pinson to a 10-day contract, and according to multiple reports, the franchise will also sign forward/center Marquese Chriss to a deal.
