DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks are looking to upgrade their roster as the first half of the season comes to a close with a Wednesday night matchup vs the Oklahoma City Thunder.

According to The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor, the Mavs and Nuggets are interested in trading for New Orleans Pelicans sharp-shooter J.J. Redick.

The K&C Masterpiece react to the report in the video above.

"With JJ Redick, he obviously started the year shooting the ball pretty poorly. J.J.'s back (now) draining 3's. There are rumors that the Nets, Sixers (and) Celtics were interested. I've heard two other teams that could be connected to JJ in a potential trade are Denver and Dallas," O'Connor said on the Mismatch podcast. "Ultimately, those are two additional teams that sound like they have some level of interest in JJ Redick, but we'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks."

Chris Vernon followed up O'Connor's report by saying that Redick's fit would be better with Dallas than Denver.

"Luka (Doncic) needs guys that he can just throw it out to and he count on (them) draining it, because the (Josh) Richardson thing has not played out like you wanted it to," Vernon said.

Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer reported Tuesday that Redick and Pelicans guard Eric Bledsoe "appear to be very much available, league sources said."

Redick is averaging 8.3 points per game on 39.2 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent shooting from three-point range. He's shooting 50 percent from deep over his last three games.

The Mavericks are ranked 22nd in the NBA in three-point percentage (35.5%), so they could certainly use more shooting.

Dallas finished 11th in the NBA in three-point shooting (36.6%) last season, but they made an effort to improve their defense in the offseason, which resulted in them trading away their best long-range shooter in Seth Curry to the Sixers.

As referenced by the guys from The Ringer, Richardson isn't having much success with Dallas on the offensive end, as he's shooting a career-low 29.8 percent from deep.
