The Texas Rangers will be well-represented when the All-Star Game takes place in the Emerald City on July 11. That's because not one, not two, not three, but four Rangers have been elected to start for the American League in the Midsummer Classic.
Major League Baseball announced Thursday that second baseman Marcus Semien (over Blue Jays second baseman Whit Merrifield), shortstop Corey Seager (over Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette), third baseman Josh Jung (over Blue Jays third baseman Matt Chapman) and catcher Jonah Heim (over Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman) had all won their respective position battles in the final round of fan voting that ended at 11 a.m. Thursday.
The lone Ranger to advance to the final round of voting and not be awarded a starting spot was outfielder Adolis Garcia, who finished the Yankees' Aaron Judge, Mike Trout of the Angels, and the Rays' Randy Arozarena.
Garcia, along with other Rangers such as Nathan Eovaldi, Jon Gray, Dane Dunning, Nathaniel Lowe, Will Smith, Ezequiel Duran, and Leody Taveras, could still be heading to Seattle and will learn if their fates when MLB announces the pitchers and reserves on each roster at 4:30 p.m CT on ESPN on Sunday, July 2.
