Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and more are returning to the big screen!
One of the most popular animated films of the 21st century will be back in theaters to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
"Shrek" will be shown in select theaters across the country for three nights: April 25, 28 & 29th.
"We are delighted to partner with Universal and DreamWorks Animation to bring "Shrek" back to the big screen for its 20th anniversary," Fathom Events Vice President of Studio Relations Tom Lucas said. "This treasured animated feature has enduring multi-generational appeal and makes for a great day at the cinema for the whole family."
DreamWorks hopes that the showing will bring back buzz for the franchise. Development on the potential "Shrek 5" film remains stalled, though it's currently slated for a September 2022 release.
The 'Shrek' movies have grossed more than $2 billion worldwide and the return to theaters comes as cinemas have started reopening all over America.
Tickets for the film go on-sale March 12. To see where you can watch it in a theater near you head here.
