(670 The Score) The Bears’ matchup against the Packers on Sunday night is coming at an opportune time, personality and podcast host Trey Wingo said.
While the Bears upset the 49ers on Sunday to open their season with a victory, the Packers lost 23-7 to the Vikings. Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers went 22-of-34 for just 195 yards, averaging 5.7 yards per pass attempt while also being sacked four times. Green Bay also turned the ball over twice.
“Green Bay is gettable – they’re not really good,” Wingo said on the Parkins & Spiegel Show on Wednesday afternoon.
“They played like bleep (in a loss to Saints to open the 2021 season) and they looked terrible, but they had Davante Adams. They had Equanimeous St. Brown. They had Marquez Valdes-Scantling. It’s going to be a rough seven games with the Packers as they try and figure out (stuff). Outside of Randall Cobb, I don’t think there was a receiver that Aaron Rodgers played with Sunday against the Vikings that he’d ever played in a game with before. It’s a whole new thing.
“It’s going to take some time for these receivers to adjust to game speed with Aaron Rodgers … He doesn’t have his guys. Like the timing is not there. It’s going to take longer for Green Bay to get good this year than it has in recent years.”
