CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Michael Stanley was Cleveland.
He loved its teams – the Browns, Indians and Cavaliers – as much as the city, and he loved talking about their plight – win or lose, just as much.
Stanley’s musical work crossed over into the sports world often.
In the 1980’s Stanley recorded “Tonight's The Night,” which became one of the more popular Cavs anthems over the years.
In 1998, Stanley teamed up with a host of artists to compose a song to celebrate the return of the Browns with “Here We Go Again.”
In 1999 Stanley helped headline ‘Tribe Jam’ in which Indians players joined him on stage and rocked out under the lights for charity at Nautica Pavilion on the banks of the Cuyahoga river.
Following the news of his passing Saturday, the Indians, Cavaliers and Browns paid tribute to the local icon on social media.
