You can add another Major League team to the ever-growing list of clubs interested in luring Freddie Freeman away from Atlanta.

According to Audacy Insider Jon Heyman, the Tampa Bay Rays made the free agent Freeman an offer before players were locked out by the league.

If Freeman, who's two years removed from his NL MVP Award, doesn't re-sign with Atlanta, look for the Tampa Bay Rays to join the Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers, and the New York Yankees and drive the bidding high.

Heyman also admitted that other teams could fit.

The Angels are another Southern California team that gets mentioned as Freeman was born in Orange, California. The New York Mets also make sense as a big-market team with financial means, but Pete Alonso might have an issue with Freeman's addition.

It's difficult for Atlantans to imagine Freeman in any other uniform. Heyman even mentioned his "surprise" that a deal wasn't done with the Braves prior to the lockout. The Braves are still in the mix, that's never been in doubt. But if other markets continue to enter the fray, the chances of Freeman wearing the same uniform for his entire MLB career may continue to get worse.
