92.9 The Game Atlanta Braves insider Grant McAuley joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the Braves moves so far this offseason and does he think the Braves need to do with their starting rotation going into the 2023 season.

When asked if the Braves had enough pitching as their starting rotation goes.

“I feel like at the end of that rotation with the guys that you have, with Bryce Elder with Ian Anderson with hopefully Mike Soroka in the mix it’s a solid four,” McAuley said. “But I would not rule out seeing the Braves, depending on how the season goes using some of this money that they are going to continue to spend and invest in this club, maybe looking at a way to upgrade this rotation in season when and if they need it in order to get this club a little bit better.”

McAuley talked about how the Braves will have money to spend in season on pitching if needed.

“Because the bullpen looks great, yea you can add hitters and I wouldn’t rule that out ever because you can always add a little bit more offense and we’ve seen Alex do that. But this may be kinda the area that you monitor throughout the season where when the Braves look to upgrade their pitching staff instead of relievers maybe they go out and get a starter that can stick around for a little bit longer than say the last couple of three months of the year, and be part of this team a little bit longer term.”
