PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) — It’s not often that NFL teams remain perfect after half the season, yet the Pittsburgh Steelers are sitting there at 8-0.
And while Pittsburgh is now looking toward Week 10 against the Bengals to get that ninth win, they have found a surprising and powerful new ally: Robert Downey Jr.
In an Instagram video, Downey gave a shout out to Steelers edge rusher Cam Heyward and broke out the ol’ Infinity Gauntlet to send some positive reinforcements in the Steelers’ direction.
"Let's go for 9-0. I know it can seem like a bit of a trap game but...all omens are good," Downey said.
Adorned in his Steelers gear, Downey, famously known for his role as Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, flaunted and flexed the gauntlet to let Heyward and the rest of the Steelers know that he’s got their back.
"And I believe that 'Ironhead' is going to need an iron hand, so this is coming your way, brother. Thank you. Love you. Go Steelers!'
So do the Steelers automatically win now or is the league required to send the Bengals to their doom?
I don't think there are any bylaws on handling the Infinity Stones in the NFL, so this is uncharted territory.
Either way, Week 10 seems to be in good hands if you're a Steelers fan.
