
Pittsburgh celebrated one of their own on Friday when Mayor Ed Gainey declared it was Aaron Donald day in the city.

The Penn Hills and Pitt graduate grew up in the Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar section of Pittsburgh and is now one of the most dominant players in the NFL.
The defensive tackle was key in the Los Angeles Rams winning the Super Bowl last month.
Gainey thanked Donald for the inspiration his victory brought to the area and said that he has inspired the next Pittsburgh kid that wants to have success just like him.
Donald got emotional talked about Gainey read the proclamation.
“This is a dream,” said Donald holding back tears.
“It started with football . . . to be here now receiving this in my city, in my city this is crazy,” added Donald. “I didn’t’ think I was gonna cry man, but this is real.”
Donald went on to talk about how much he loves the City of Pittsburgh and how he returns here every offseason to train and to be close with his family that still lives in the area.
He was also honored for the work he does with his foundation AD99 Solutions, which helps the youth of Pittsburgh with athletic and learning opportunities.
