Will we soon see Crosby doing the JuJu dances?....Probably not

We don’t think you’ll be seeing Sidney Crosby doing the “Corvette, Corvette” TikTok dance but the Penguins have announced a partnership with the short-form video platform.

Pittsburgh is the first organization in the NHL to form a partnership with TikTok.

The platform mainly attracts teens and young adults with some users gaining millions of followers with lip-syncing, comedy bits and more.

“The Penguins are thrilled to work with such a rapidly-growing and innovative company, that is also a ton of fun for our fans,” said vice president of digital, Andi Perelman. “We are excited for the opportunity to collaborate with some of TikTok’s experts to find even more ways to grow on the platform.”

The Penguins already have a strong presence on social media and the partnership with TikTok will allow them to reach even more people.

The Penguins plan to produce custom content that will only be available on the platform.

“The Penguins partnership will also be the first in which TikTok will work directly with a professional sports franchise to create custom content for advertising purposes outside of the platform,” a release states.

The partnership makes sense since a large portion of the Penguins fan base is younger fans.

Pittsburgh sports fans may already be aware of TikTok thanks to Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and his viral dances that have been both celebrated and criticized.
