PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Syracuse Head Coach Jim Boeheim said after their game on Saturday that Pitt ‘bought a team’ and said the same about Wake Forest and Miami. Pitt Head Coach Jeff Capel made his first public comment about it on Monday morning.

“I have no comment, no reaction,” Capel said on the ACC Coaches Teleconference. “Everyone is entitled to their reaction of what they think. I have no comment on anyone else’s opinion."

Boeheim contacted ESPN and Pete Thamel to walk-back his words on Sunday saying he ‘absolutely misspoke’ with his comments about Pitt and Wake Forest. That he ‘shouldn’t have’ included both schools.

Capel said he talked to Boeheim via phone privately and wouldn’t disclose their conversation.

The Panthers beat Syracuse in December and host the Orange on February 25.
