PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – When it looked like Chris Boswell was out of the woods and ready to return this week after the release of Nick Sciba Tuesday, the Steelers signed another kicker on Wednesday. Not just signed a kicker, but added to the active roster.

Matthew Wright was poached off the Chiefs practice squad and added to the Steelers 53-man roster. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent in 2019 by the Steelers, Wright has kicked in 19 NFL games with the Chiefs, Jags and Steelers. He’s hit 87.5% of his field goals (28-32) including five from 50-plus among them is a 59-yarder this year for Kansas City against the Raiders.

Wright holds the University of Central Florida record for career points and extra-points made.
