James Harden was asked if it's too late to repair his relationship with the Philadelphia 76ers.

"I think so," told Houston reporter Jason Bristol.

"I've been patient all summer, so for me it's just focus on what I can control and that's working out, staying in shape, and getting ready for a good season," Harden said.

Earlier this week, Harden was caught on video in China calling Sixers president Daryl Morey a "liar" and saying that he would never play for a team run by Morey again.

"Harden is unhappy with Sixers president Daryl Morey over the lack of a long-term maximum-level contract offer, sources said, and the team is risking Harden's arrival at training camp bringing anything but a championship mindset," Wojnarowski wrote for ESPN.com.

Harden opted into his $35.6 million player-option with the Sixers seemingly with the hopes of getting traded this offseason.

Harden, who will turn 34 in 13 days, is coming off of a season where he took a pay cut with the Sixers and had a successful regular season, averaging 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and an NBA best 10.7 assists per game.

However, Harden was streaky in the postseason, as the Sixers were eliminated in the second-round of the playoffs once again.
