Ben Simmons is "nearing" his Brooklyn Nets debut, planning to "really ramp it up" this week, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.
Simmons, 25, has not played in a game of professional basketball this entire season after requesting a trade from Philadelphia. Simmons was traded last week right before the NBA Trade deadline to the Nets in a package for James Harden.
Simmons said his mental health and personal issues were reasons he was unable to return to form in Philly and speaking on the Rights To Ricky Sanchez podcast, Sixers president Daryl Morey said, "I believe him."
The Nets return to the court on Thursday at home vs. the red hot Celtics before heading to Milwaukee on Saturday.
As for Harden, Morey hinted on Twitter that Harden will make his Sixers debut on Friday at Minnesota, as he has been rehabbing a hamstring injury.
The Sixers' next home game is on Wednesday, March 2nd vs. the Knicks, a 7:30pm ESPN game, Harden's likely home debut.
