Derrick Gunn has Eagles fans in an uproar after reporting that a source told him Jalen Hurts threw three picks, four incompletions, and took three sacks in a 10 play scenario during an OTA in May.

"This was just one specific practice. Everybody has a bad day, no matter you do in life." Gunn clarified. "The funny thing about this is, we talked about this on our show Sports Take back in early June and nobody said anything then. All of the sudden, we just brought it up again last Friday and Barrett [Brooks] confirmed it, he said he talked to someone who said the same thing. And people lost their minds. I'm looking at all of the comments on Twitter and they're hilarious. Obviously a lot of people didn't go on vacation this summer.

"So it's like, you know what, it is what it is. People are like, 'You need to walk it—.' I'm not gonna walk it back, for what? Ike Reese, how long have you known me, 25 years? Have you ever known me to put anything out there without confirming anything I say or do.

"Nope," Reese said.

"OK. So this is just another in the line of talking to somebody I trust, I respect and it was just a one day type thing. And people are like, 'You don't get sacked on 7-on-7!' No you don't. But basically coaches have a timer. If a quarterback doesn't deliver the ball in a certain amount of time, they consider that a sack."

A.J. Brown took exception to the report, which went viral this week. Brown, the new Eagles receiver and very close friend of Hurts, mocked the report on Twitter.

Gunn clarified to Marks & Reese that he is "one hundred percent" rooting for Hurts to succeed, something he has reiterated many times publicly.

The 23-year-old QB is entering his third NFL season and second as the Eagles' full-time starter. In two seasons, Hurts is 9-10 with 22 passing touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and 13 rushing touchdowns in 30 games played (19 starts).
