The Philadelphia Eagles are among the teams which have "remained in communication" with safety Tyrann Mathieu, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Garafolo said on Wednesday that there has been talk of a visit between Mathieu and the Eagles, but "nothing has been set up to this point."
Mathieu, 29, is among the most dynamic playmakers on defense in football. Mathieu is a three-time first-team All-Pro, three-time Pro Bowler, and won the Super Bowl as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020.
Philadelphia clearly has a void at the safety position.
The Eagles re-signed 30-year-old safety Anthony Harris, but after that their depth chart consists of 2019 sixth-round pick Marcus Epps who has just eight NFL starts, 2020 fourth-round pick K'Von Wallace who has just six NFL starts, and undrafted 23-year-old Jared Mayden who has zero starts and has played in just six games.
Long-time Eagles veteran safety Rodney McLeod remains a free-agent.
Howie Roseman loves this time of the year and he is always looking to make moves. Just a few days ago, Roseman made a big trade involving draft picks with the New Orleans Saints, better setting the Eagles up over the next three years.
Jordan Schultz reported that the Eagles have "inquirer" about wide receiver Brandin Cooks, as well.
The 2022 NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 28th and the Eagles currently have two first-round picks (No. 15, 18), a second-round pick, and two third-round picks.
