Jason Kelce spoke highly of his former coach on Thursday morning, just three days before Doug Pederson makes his return to Philadelphia to face the Eagles on Sunday.

"Doug was awesome, man," Kelce told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show. "The biggest thing that I really loved about Doug was that he really empowered his players. He was a guy that really emphasized the importance of the individual, the importance of each guy doing their job. Not just listening to those players and taken those players feedback—when you're asking a player what he thinks or anything like that, that's going to make the player more invested or feel more valued.

"They were fun teams, they were fun culture to be around. What coach—I don't know many coaches on fourth down in the Super Bowl when Nick Foles comes up to them and asks them to run a trick play, they're like, 'Yeah you know what, yeah, let's do it.' That was kind of who he was and that was one of his biggest strengths."

Of course, there's now a statue of the play call outside of Lincoln Financial Field, something that Pederson says he has yet to see in person.

Pederson, in his first year as head coach of the Jaguars, already has the league buzzing with Jacksonville off to a 2-1 start which includes a 24-0 shellacking of the Colts and a 38-10 blowout win over the Chargers in LA last week.

"And you see it already happening in Jacksonville," Kelce said. "These guys are playing unbelievable football right now. The defense is solid, Mike Caldwell has got those guys running around playing hard. Press Taylor and Doug on offense, they're really starting to click. You're already seeing that transformation starting to happen in Jacksonville."
